About FontExtractor.
We build simple, fast tools for people who care about typography. FontExtractor answers one question very well: which fonts does this website use?
Why we built it
Every designer and developer has stared at a beautiful website and wondered what typeface it uses. Browser developer tools can answer that, but only slowly and one element at a time. We wanted a website font extractor that returns the complete picture in seconds — every family, weight and format — with previews you can actually read.
What makes it different
- Complete results. We follow linked stylesheets, @import chains, inline styles and preloaded fonts, not just the first CSS file.
- Readable output. Fonts are grouped by family, previewed in their own typeface and given clean file names.
- Developer-friendly. Copy @font-face CSS or download everything as a ZIP with a ready-made stylesheet.
- Private. No accounts, no tracking cookies, and nothing is stored after the scan.
- Multilingual. The tool is available in English, Spanish, Japanese, French, German, Portuguese, Korean and Italian.
Our view on font licensing
Type design is skilled, time-consuming work. FontExtractor is meant for identification, research, debugging and learning. We encourage everyone to check the license of any font they find and to buy commercial fonts from their foundries. Many of the fonts you will discover are open source, and those can be used freely.
